Beer, Bites and Birdies: Why Captain Woody’s Is a Good Choice for the 19th Hole

I am not sure when it started exactly, but at some point in my golf game I realized where you eat after you play matters almost as much as where you play.
Enter: Captain Woody’s, a no-frills spot in Old Town Bluffton that’s become my go-to when I want laid-back, and unpretentious.
Not Fancy, and That’s the Point
Captain Woody’s isn’t trying to be anything. It knows what it is - and that’s why it works.
It’s the kind of place where you can walk in with a golf glove still peeking out of your pocket, take your hat off regardless of what your hair is going to look like and grab a seat at the bar or a table on the patio without anyone blinking. There’s always a bit of a buzz from conversations you might overhear from someone’s day, laughter, subtle music in the background and some kind of sport playing on the tv’s.

No reservations, no dress code, no pressure.
Quick Bite or Stay a While. You Choose
I’ve popped in for a fish taco before heading home, and I’ve also spent hours sometimes with friends, other times chatting with people I just met. Conversations almost always circle back to why we love this town and the charm of small-town living.
It’s all-American classic food and happy hour specials make it easy to order more than you can eat. The prices are refreshingly affordable, especially in a golf town. No resort markup. Just straightforward meals and drinks.
As Local As It Gets
Bluffton is growing fast, but Captain Woody’s still feels like the town’s front porch. You’ll meet regulars, friendly staff, and vacationers who come year-over-year. It’s the kind of place where you’ll bump into someone you know and newcomers are greeted like old friends.

When the Scorecard is Done, but the Day Isn’t
Whether you are celebrating a great round or shaking off a rough one, it’s where you go to unwind, refuel and may stick around longer than you planned.
